A new month, a new start

August is here. Where has 2011 gone? I feel as though i was just celebrating my birthday (it's in January). I came home from Going Beyond very renewed and encouraged. Something I desperately needed right now. I have a new outlook on Bible study and digging deeper into the Word. I was doing great on my weight loss journey then fell off the wagon and wasn't motivated to start again. I've gotten my drive to be a healthier me back. I have been re-reading Made to Crave by Lysa Terkuerst. INCREDIBLE BOOK!!! It's as though I'm finally seeing things in this book that I never knew were there before. I'm getting it. And I'm excited. Also another big encouragement is Courtney from Biggest Loser season 11. She did an amazing job of changing her life before BL and is continuing on her journey. I love the tips from her blog and her tweets daily. I had decided that I was going to do my best to be healthy and exercise the month of August. I knew I needed to weigh myself, but also wasn't looking for a big change in the number, either. I have only been back on track for a week afterall. Well, on Monday, I stepped on the scale and the number was 8lbs down from where it had been last week. I stepped off the scale, let it reset, and stepped back on. Still 8lbs lost. So screamed very loudly! I was completely shocked. And I felt the Lord say, "See what I can do when you completely allow me to fight for you." WOW. So I'm really excited about this month. Not really about the weight loss, but so happy to know that my relationship with God my Father is filling my empty places now.

On another note: the kiddos are doing good this week. On Thursday, Anns will start school. Seems really soon. We have been hanging out this week. It's so hot outside (104) and I'm ready for cooler temps!
Anns and I played with her barbies on Monday. They were going to gymnastics. I love children's imaginations.
Tay joined in on the fun
the hermit crabs the kids brought back from their beach vacation
On Tuesday we went to lunch and to the mall. We HAD to ride train in the mall.
We went to Tuti Fruiti- a frozen yogurt with a buffet of toppings for dessert. Wonderful! and the kids had fun choosing/making their own choices. (I had cheesecake with strawberries and kiwi) Yum.
Today the kids "washed" Tay's shark toys. Mostly they just wanted to play with the the water and bubbles.
We ate a Chik-Fila-A for lunch. They needed to run out some energy at the playground. Hoping we take good naps today.

Have a great week!!!

  1. You keep going Cyndi! If I can help you in any way, please let me know. I'm far from an expert, but you know I am going through the same journey and struggles.
I got my index card book and markers today and am going to start writing my scripture today. Any ideas or suggestions on particular scripture would be appreciated. I also bought Made To Crave for my Kindle and am reading it. I want to get a physical copy of the book too, to highlight certain certain passages, etc.
Thanks again for being such an encouragement to me in my walk with the Lord!
